Anna Higham (formerly Lyles, Flor and writer of The Last Bite) opened her own bakery in the summer of 2023. I developed a brand for her that represented the role and scale of this new venture. Still in the startup phase I needed to develop something simple to implement with limited resources, still presenting distinct in the saturated market of bakeries and fitting into the local neighbourhood in a complimentary way.

The inspiration came from the shape of the fruit; each quince has different dents and curves and is incredibly varied compared to any other fruit. On the other hand, from the incredibly diverse colour spectrum of the fruit I could build the colour palette. When cooked, it changes from a bright yellow to a striking pink—In this whole wide colour spectrum, there are so many this fascinating fruit can deliver. This diversity of colour reflected the beautiful unexpected nature of Anna’s high calibre creativity.
